Now I'm not sure about you but we are fed up with the entire recreational fishing industry. Why you may ask?
Well, that's simple, it is the fact that this wonderful hobby is becoming too damn expensive. Between the Rods, Reels and even the bait itself, the common angler has to fork out a small fortune even before they get a rod in the water.
We are here to change that.
We believe that fishing should be affordable for everyone, that is why we founded this company back in 2014. Our goal is to provide the best quality fishing gear at the lowest prices so that you can get on the water quickly without burning a hole in your pocket.
Oh and we also save the lives of thousands of marine animals each year and this is how you can help.
Giving Back (A word from our founder)
"It all started back in 2011 when I was on a fishing trip in Malaysia. It was an early morning, we got up at about 5am, in order to get out to the reef by sunrise.
We had a big storm the night before which had caused all the litter in the storm water drains to be flushed out into the ocean.
At the time I didn't think much of the storm as I was pulling up to the marina, but on exit it was a whole different story.
There was trash EVERYWHERE and I mean everywhere, you couldn't see the ocean the pollution was that thick. I couldn't believe it and words simply don't describe. It was one of the worst sights I've ever seen in my life.
Then it hit me this was just one small city, in one small country... and the amount of trash it produced was astronomical. If one city could produce this much pollution, imagine how much the entire world is producing every single day.
That is when I realized the true extent of human impact on our world's oceans. I asked myself would there even be an ocean to fish in within the next 100 years? The answer was concerning, to say the least. Having grown up around the ocean my entire life, I couldn't fathom a world without a vibrant ocean we all know and love!
So that is when I decided to find a way to help, a few weeks later I found the charity Ocean Conservancy and the rest is history..."
What do they do?
Ocean Conservancy is responsible for protecting the world's oceans through a number of different ways.
One of their first initiatives was the Whale Protection Fund, which focused on saving whales and protesting commercial whaling by Russia and Japan. They raised support from people like you to invest in scientific research, and they launched petitions and ran ads in papers to raise awareness about the whaling industry. All that commitment paid off when the International Whaling Commission finally banned commercial whaling in 1982.
In the early years, their work focused on species like whales, seals and sea turtles. While they were a part of many success stories, they realized they couldn’t protect species without protecting their habitat. So they thought bigger and shifted to a more ecosystem-based approach. They were also one of the first environmental organizations to engage industries in conservation—a key part of their mission to this day.
In the 1980s, they fought for key habitats to be protected under the Marine Sanctuary Program, and their staff started the very first International Coastal Cleanup in 1986.
Over the years, their mission grew and solidified to make them who they are now: a science-based organization that stands on the absolute conviction that each individual can make a positive difference for our ocean.
By working together, Ocean Conservancy seeks solutions for a healthy ocean and the wildlife and communities that depend on it.
Today, they are dedicated to finding solutions to the biggest threats facing our ocean. And they know that they can’t solve those problems without your support. Because we all depend on a healthy ocean for the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat.
